18k Antique Mourning Ring size 7.5 (year 1853) with box
Mourning rings are something really special pieces of jewelry history. These pieces were made to remember a loved one. The center of this 18k mourning ring features three small rose cut diamonds, in a border of black enamel, the shoulders each set with three seed pearls, and further very worn black enamel. The reverse with a locket back, glazed panel missing. It probably originally held hair, but has since been removed. The ring is marked for London 1853. It is a size 7.5.
Note: Usually, the boxes you see here are for photography purposes only. However, this antique ring box did come with this ring so I have decided to keep them together in case it is original to the piece. So, you will get the box featured in this listing.
